If you want less (or more) detail for a particular person, you can exclude specific facts from their chart entry.
Select the person in editing mode, go to the Person tab of the Chart Properties panel, and click the … button next to Exclude fact(s). The dialog lets you check which facts to hide for this person on this chart.
This is useful for saving space on a person who would otherwise have a very tall entry, or for de-emphasising less important information.
