Pedigree Forge supports dates in the French Republican Calendar, which was in use from 1793 to 1805. Years are numbered 1 to 14, and the months have distinctive names.
Enter dates with the month abbreviation and year:
4 Vend 1 FR — 4 Vendemiaire in Year 1
11 Nivo 14 — 11 Nivose in Year 14
The FR suffix is optional — French Republican dates are recognised by their month names.
The month abbreviations are: Vend, Brum, Frim, Nivo, Pluv, Vent, Germ, Flor, Prai, Mess, Ther, Fruc, Comp.
Note — French Republican dates are imported and exported in GEDCOM using the @#DFRENCH R@ escape (FRENCH_R in version 7.0).
