Fact CitationsFact Citations
Recording where a piece of information comes from is very important in genealogy. When you enter facts and events, you should record how you know the information is correct.
Pedigree Forge supports two kinds of citations on facts:
- Source citations — a link to a source record that has been created in the Sources panel. These are shown with an identifier such as [S2]. See Sources for how to create and manage sources.
- Local citations — free-form text entered directly on the fact, useful for quick notes or references that do not warrant a full source record. Templates are available to help create these in a consistent format.
Both can be added or removed using the + and trash buttons on the Citations list below a selected fact.
