To import a GEDCOM file, use File > Import from GEDCOM and select the .ged file. The import runs and a dialog appears when complete, with the option to view an import report.
Tip — Review the import report. It highlights any data that could not be imported or was converted approximately. This helps minimise loss of fidelity.
After importing, save the project — the imported data is in memory but has not yet been written to disk.
