Charts — Hybrid Charts

A hybrid chart combines a descendant chart and an ancestor chart, starting from a single person and showing both their ancestors above and their descendants below. This is sometimes called an "hourglass" chart in other genealogy software.

Hybrid chart with siblings for Charles Darwin
Editing

Editing hybrid charts follows the same principles as descendant charts. The ancestor portion of the chart does not include siblings of ancestors, which generally produces a cleaner layout.

A similar effect can be achieved by specifying multiple start people on a descendant chart, though the hybrid mode omits siblings of ancestors automatically.
